PSA/Rant
JH here. I know this is totally out of tone but I wanted to discuss something with you all. The snow is coming. In fact we had our first few appearances already but no accumulation yet, so I wanted to take this moment to remind the drivers out there of some basic rules for that first day of snow accumulation on the roads. 1: If you can avoid driving on the first major snow day, do it. Invariable most people drive like idiots on the first big snow day. Staying off the road is the best way to avoid them, or worse behaving like them. 2: If you must go out on the road please turn on your headlights if visibility is low even if it is still daylight. This is to help the idiots on the road see you and hopefully avoid you. 3: You will have to drive a little slower than normal. This does not mean total 'granny who can't see over the wheel mode'. Just give yourself a little more time to respond to things by driving a little closer to the speed limit, maybe even under it. 4: Hand in hand with speed adjustment is breaking. You will need to be a lot more careful about breaking. Break early, often, and above all lightly. Part of the whole reduced speed thing is trying to avoid slamming on the breaks. I know that everybody already knows these but for some reason they get forgotten every year. To make up for the lame rant I include this picture I found online a while ago. It's snow and car themed as well as hilarious. Enjoy and stay safe. Lalala

Wandering the land.
So we couldn't quite decide which coffee shop to go to after a rather disappointing meal at Zingerman's this afternoon (service was great, JM's sandwhich was a severe disappointment though). Up and down main we went from Crazy Wisdom to Chocolate House Of Ann Arbor and back with a little stop over at this new tiny little place called Mighty Good coffee whose owner was kind enough to give us a tour of the attached shared office space business next door (WWW.workantileExchange.com) beautiful space BTW. Ultimately we returned to Crazy Wisdom. The guy who works there was incredibly nice and welcoming and is suffering under a new policy that requires him to kick people who have been sitting for a while in favor of newly arrived customers. BOOOOOOO. We all agree this is a terrible policy and only a complete douche bag would be comfortable taking a table that was forcibly denied another customer. JM and I are going to talk to Monsieur/Madame Policymaker and try and rid nice coffee maker guy of weird ass policy, for both his sake and ours. We like sitting here by the window with our gargantuan slices of melting tiramisu and pumpkin cheesecake, and cappuccino that floats through JM's veins like heroin. lalalala..
