PSA/Rant

JH here. I know this is totally out of tone but I wanted to discuss something with you all. The snow is coming. In fact we had our first few appearances already but no accumulation yet, so I wanted to take this moment to remind the drivers out there of some basic rules for that first day of snow accumulation on the roads. 1: If you can avoid driving on the first major snow day, do it. Invariable most people drive like idiots on the first big snow day. Staying off the road is the best way to avoid them, or worse behaving like them. 2: If you must go out on the road please turn on your headlights if visibility is low even if it is still daylight. This is to help the idiots on the road see you and hopefully avoid you. 3: You will have to drive a little slower than normal. This does not mean total 'granny who can't see over the wheel mode'. Just give yourself a little more time to respond to things by driving a little closer to the speed limit, maybe even under it. 4: Hand in hand with speed adjustment is breaking. You will need to be a lot more careful about breaking. Break early, often, and above all lightly. Part of the whole reduced speed thing is trying to avoid slamming on the breaks. I know that everybody already knows these but for some reason they get forgotten every year. To make up for the lame rant I include this picture I found online a while ago. It's snow and car themed as well as hilarious. Enjoy and stay safe. Lalala
